2020 was a challenge year for Equality Myanmar. First, we successfully reached our goal and objective although we faced global pandemic in Myanmar.Second, we had effective implemented all our planned project activities although we could not implement in-person trainings. Third, our Equality Myanmar effectively tackle hate speech issues which threatened democracy movement and 2020 general election in Myanmar.
We empowered and capacitated marginalized and grassroots community people and making them aware of human rights through human rights talks, trainings, workshops, and events. Although we faced global pandemic, we contributed human rights education, awareness, and advocacy movement. Covid-19 Pandemic had stopped the progress of economic and negatively affected people movement. However, Equality Myanmar had implemented online human rights talks, social campaigns, human rights awareness and advocacy in Myanmar. We had brought the voices of community members.
