HREIB conducts ToT Training
From July 16 to August 12, HREIB conducted the annual Training of Trainers (TOT) at the head office in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
The focus of the training is the empowerment of human rights activists and trainers from inside Burma. This year, the training specifically targeted trainers from Yangon and Mandalay, where HREIB is currently operating HRE programs.
Eleven participants from CBOs, NGOs, and INGOs in Yangon, Mandalay and Mawlamyine attended the training.
Participants were introduced to the central concepts of human rights and HRE, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR); the Convention of Civil and Political Rights; the Convention of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights; Women Rights and CEDAW; the Burmese constitution and other national legislation; the human rights based approach; ASEAN and UN advocacy; as well as lesson preparation and training facilitation.
HREIB’s trainers Aung Zaw Htwe, Pan Tsun, Aung Myo Min, Nine Nine, Phyo, and Cherry conducted the training sessions.
This training marked HREIB’s twelfth annual TOT.
