The Human Rights Education Institute of Burma (HREIB) has released a music album promoting peace and conflict resolution. The album will be distributed at International Peace Day events which are being held throughout Burma on September 21st.
The album, titled “A Light in the Door,” is dedicated to raising awareness of the struggle and hardship which people living in Burma’s conflict zones are facing.
The album features 10 songs composed and performed by Burmese musicians. It will be distributed throughout Burma, particularly in the Kachin, Karenni, Karen, Chin, Mon, and Shan regions.
This is HREIB’s first music album focusing on peace and conflict resolution.
The production of the album was funded by Terre des Hommes Germany and the Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen’s zivik program.
The album reflects a collaboration among many young Burmese artists and composers who dedicated to promoting issues of peace and reconciliation.
