EU- Myanmar Civil Society Forum on Human Rights
DCA-NCA hosted EU-Myanmar Civil Society Forum on Human Rights on 12th June 2019 at Inya Lake Hotel in Yangon.
The aim of the forum is to address human rights violations and challenges within the country, discussing with civil society organizations as preparatory session, to share and discuss the key human rights-related messages with the EU Special Representative for Human Rights and representatives from EU Members States, based on the result of the discussion.
This will provide the Special Representative with important information prior to his official meeting with the Myanmar Government during the official EU-Myanmar Human Rights Dialogue.
The forum was attended by 35 civil society organizations working on relevant sectors across Myanmar. They mainly discussed the four sectors: political rights, land rights issues, women and child rights issue and ethnic minority rights issues through group work based discussion.
Together with DCA-NCA, Equality Myanmar and Local Resource Center also co-organized the forum.
