Human rights Talk in Khin Oo, Sagaing Division

Human rights awareness talk was held in Khin Oo, Sagaing Division on 30 January with the aims to raise awareness on basic human rights issues, violations cases and reporting strategy.

After the talk, one of the seminar participants Kyaw Zaw Zaw shared his account in this way;

“We, the farmers, do not know where to complain the cases even if our rights are violated and insulted.  Now, I have learnt the five pillars complain mechanisms”

Another participant Maung Htay also said that;

“I have heard about human rights for a long time, even though I did not know about human rights properly. I am delighted to be able to hear what human rights are.”

The talk was led by Equality Myanmar Human rights trainers U Kyaw Hsan from Human Rights Education Network trainer. The talk covers several human rights topics such as the human rights concepts, the International Human Rights Declaration and the human rights complaints mechanisms.

Overall, a total of 61 local people attended the talk.
