International Human Rights Day Event Yangon

On 9th December, International Human Rights Day Event was celebrated at Goethe Institute in Yangon.

To mark the International Human Rights Day Event, this year motto is #Standupforhumanrights!

The Chairman of Myanmar National Human Rights Commission, U Win Myint and EU Ambassador, H.E.Mr. Kristian Schmidt attended the opening ceremony and also delivered an opening speech respectively.

After that, United Act (Child Rights Affair Department of Equality Myanmar), Child Theater Group entertained a theater performance that highlights the situation of children in armed conflict areas. Other programs included Human Rights talks (Human Rights Defenders across Myanmar tell their stories) organized by Rights for All project, reading the statement endorsed by over 500 CSOs on the Verdict that is an injustice for Human Rights Defenders and Live in concert of the Reasonabilists and Side Effect.

In addition, HR, HRD and Justice related booth shows, exhibitions and additional enjoyable activities such as Quiz and fun Game activities, giving presents/ gifts to the participants with Q&A sections were also celebrated.
