With the support of Equality Myanmar, a meeting between civil society organizations and State Hluttaw Representatives with regard to water resource was held on February 21, 2019 , at Yarmanya hotel, Mawlamyine city, Mon state.
The purpose of the meeting is to achieve the engagement between Mon state civil society organizations and Hluttaw representatives and to strengthen the cooperation for next processes. Daw Khine Khine Lai and U Aung Kyaw Thu, who are Hluttaw representatives of Tha thone constituency, participated in discussion.
Civil society organizations discussed and urged to organize village-tract level fishery committee and to make sure that relevant people follow State fisheries law with regard to regional water resource.
State Hluttaw representative “Daw Khine Khine Lai” said that she was interested in water resource including fisheries very much and ready to work together with relevant groups and help necessary things.
The meeting was successfully completed, with the mutual commitment between civil society organizations and state Hluttaw representatives.
