Workshop held to strengthen the Child Rights protection mechanism

A group of local and international organizations participated in a workshop held to strengthen the Child Protection Referral System, which serves cases of abused and exploited Burmese migrant children in Tak province.

The workshop, held on June 17th, was organized by Burma ACT (Burma Anti-Child Trafficking) and attended by over thirty community members.

Also in attendance were representatives from local and international NGOs which work in the area of child protection, including the International Rescue Committee, World Education, and the Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Child Rights.

Meeting participants discussed issues of education among grassroots organizations, the development of safeguard practices within communities, and the case referral system.

The focus was on how to best collaborate in order to strengthen the Child Protection Referral System mechanism. Groups outlined work plans for future cooperation.
