TOT alumni Manawhla CBO: Human Rights training in Mohnyin Township

22 – 26 April 2014 (Mohnyin Township, Kachin State, Myanmar)

Equality Myanmar (Mandalay) TOT alumni Manawhla CBO has completed a five day human rights training from 22 – 26 April 2014 at Inn Daw Gyi, Mohnyin Township, Kachin State.

The training was conducted by 3 trainers (from Manawhla CBO ) who are EQMM’s TOT alumni as it was their first on ground training experience. Three of them were so active and energetic for what they had to share what they had gained from TOT. The training invited 26 participants, majority Shan ethnicity and secondly Burma ethnicity, who mostly are political party members and social workers.

The training was also partially organized by local CBOs for participant invitation and logistic arrangement as well as food services.

The training in five days covered several human rights modules on definition and concept history of human rights, UDHR articles (30), Types of human rights and Group Rights, International Human Rights mechanism, and Human Rights actions.

One participant quoted that, “For me, the training is a memorial moment and bring many new knowledge and information.”
