Learning woman rights and child rights together with Legal Clinic Myanmar and NCRWG on the 2nd week of TOT training

The trainees had discussed woman rights and child rights from 9th March to 14th March.

In women rights discussion, the topics such as the standard for sex and gender variables, the role of gender, stereotypes, the emergence of the history of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women(CEDAW), the articles of the rights, and authorities and responsibilities of the treaty body, Gender- Based Discrimination and Violence were discussed. Sayama Daw Hla Hla Yi, a registered lawyer from Legal Clinic Myanmar lectured on domestic laws related to the prevention of violence against women.

In child rights discussion, the topics such as the nature of child, the emergence of the history of the Convention on the Rights of the Child(CRC), the articles prescribed in the treaty, the role of CRC committee, the situation of the children in Myanmar, Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child(OP-1), using children in armed conflicts and the six grave violations against children were discussed. Saya U Phyo Thu Soe gave a lecture on draft bill (draft law). After that, facilitation related lessons are going to discuss.

Now is the 14th day of the 19th batch of human rights training of trainer course. The course has been being held since 1st March 2019, at Beauty Land Hotel, Bo Cho street, in Bahan Township, Yangon.
